Mixing Desks for Beginners

PA Mixing Desks 12 ChannelsMixing desks are a very confusing proposition for the beginner. There are powered mixers, non-powered mixers, mixer amp's and line mixers just for starters. Some have built in effects and some don't, some have graphic EQ's and some don't, some have many auxillary outputs and some have groups or busses; if you catch our drift.

In simple terms there are a few guidelines. If budget is a question and quality isn't the premium concern then surely the answer is get one with as many features as you require for your application. If however getting crystal clear sound with a hi-quality pre-amp and an accurate, crisp and malable eq section is important then quite the opposite is obvious; go for a desk without on board, effects, graphic's or other processors. The Mackie 1642 VLZ Pro (as pictured here) is prime example of the good quality available, these have four sub groups and four auxilary outputs as well and provide a good quality option.

If you are busy organising everything else and do not have time to comparison shop for different Mixing Desks you should try an online comparison store which you can read product reviews on a certain required product or whole system.
